Animal Intakes Currently Limited

Beginning Monday, October 5, Orange County Animal Services will temporarily limit stray animal intake for approximately one week due to construction near the shelter’s receiving area. During this time, OCAS will only accept stray pets with urgent medical needs or concerning behavior. Residents who find healthy, friendly stray pets are asked to help reunite them with their owners or care for them temporarily until normal intake resumes.

Adoptions and other shelter services will continue during regular business hours. Thank you for your patience as we work through this important phase of new shelter construction.

Foster Care - Inquire Today

Thank you for your interest in the Foster Care Program!

The purpose for this program is to place animals that are too young, sick, or injured in to homes where they can be cared for until they are available for adoption. We do not foster for time.

All potential foster parents must complete an online orientation session. The program will be reviewed in detail and all questions will be answered by the Adoption Coordinator or shelter representative.

Ready to get started? Complete this form below and you will be contacted by the shelter with more information, including an invitation to the next foster care orientation.

Foster parents must be 18 years of age and older.
